Duck Hunting

Registered guests at the Ranch have access to the Nicola River, which meanders through extensive reed beds with patches of willow, and to Nicola Lake with its marshy shoreline surrounded by open fields...one of the finest locations for duck hunting in Western North America.


 

Guests may purchase day permits for $ 35.00 which allow them access to the Nicola River corridor. Please note that Duck Hunting is available only to guests who are staying in Ranch accommodations.

Fishing

Rental of the SX Ranch Guest House entitles our guests to exclusive access to Mathew and Garcia lakes. The lakes are stocked with Rainbow trout annually. 

Mathew, the smaller of the two lakes is closest to the SX house, and is accessible by vehicle, or a 15 minute walk.

Garcia Lake is larger and deeper, and can be reached by a short drive from the SX through timbered rangeland. Rowboats and lifejackets are complimentary. Both lakes are for fly fishing only, and guests may keep one fish per person per day, otherwise, catch and release.

Rental of the SX house includes access to both lakes, and our guests can be assured of an undisturbed fishing experience that they will not soon forget.

Our home ranch guests may enjoy some of the finest river fishing in British Columbia on the Nicola River which is completely surrounded by privately owned lands from the mouth of Nicola Lake to the City of Merritt or on nearby Nicola Lake.
